A Celebration Of Liberty's Leaders

You all know me and the Disney signs and the Hall of Presidents is no different. I was actually anxious to see this on our last trip since I hadn't seen the update. This is a very moving show and the updates were a very nice addition. Please let me know what you all think as all suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

Water, Sky, And Earth

A shot from the Flame Tree BBQ seating area of Expedition Everest from across the water. Some great clouds allowed the blue sky to reflect off the water. Please let me know what you think as all suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

Busch Stadium

Busch Stadium by DisHippy
Busch Stadium, a photo by DisHippy on Flickr.

A little HDR action on our very own Busch Stadium here in St. Louis. Morning in downtown St. Louis is probably the best time to visit, and it's upsetting that I'm just now figuring this out. I can't wait to get back downtown again for some more exploring and shooting. :) Please let me know what you all think as all suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

Anandapur Food Truck

Anandapur Food Truck, a photo by DisHippy on Flickr.

I wish that I had food trucks that looked like this one around my house. LoL. I really loved the decorative accents all over this vehicle and had to snap a photo of it. Trying to tone down the bright sun was a bit tough, so I would really appreciate any suggestions as they are always welcomed. :) Enjoy!

Sweet Treats

Sweet Treats by DisHippy
Sweet Treats, a photo by DisHippy on Flickr.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, my favorite part of my Sigma UWA lens is that I can get very close to my subject while having everything still in the frame. This shot from Main Street is one of those such shots. I was still on the sidewalk and able to get what I wanted into the frame, I had things to crop out, but I can handle that. :) I think the variety of color is what draws me to Main Street the most. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

5 Elements Creative Thinking

5 Elements Creative Thinking by DisHippy
5 Elements Creative Thinking, a photo by DisHippy on Flickr.

One shot that I was determined to get while on my D90 and I's first trip to WDW together was the 5 Elements Pagoda in the Japan Pavilion in World Showcase. Not only did I want to get a shot like ones I'd seen here on Flickr and just that "classic" shot, but something or some composition I hadn't seen before. The think I've accomplished that here. Out of all of my shots from this area, this is among my favorite. My only dislike was that a giant white fluffy cloud was blocking my blue sky! :) Please let me know what you think as all suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

Shrines and Offerings

Shrines and Offerings by DisHippy
Shrines and Offerings, a photo by DisHippy on Flickr.

Another shot from our morning in Animal Kingdom in the Expedition Everest area. I liked all the shots that seemed to be set up for us photographers like this one. I love all the shrines and offerings set up around the area to honor the yeti and the forbidden mountain. I had to post this one for it's blue sky (Kristin W., lol), and it's nice framing. :) Please let me know what you think as any suggestions are appreciated and welcomed. Enjoy!

Raglan Road

Raglan Road by DisHippy
Raglan Road, a photo by DisHippy on Flickr.

It's been somewhat of a tradition over our past couple trips to hit Downtown Disney on our last day before heading out to get that last little bit of Disney magic after our bittersweet last night in the parks the night before. One ADR that I'd wish that we would have had time for was one at Raglan Road in DTD. From what I hear the atmosphere and food here are great. When we arrived early that morning to DTD, I knew I wanted to go grab a shot of this restaurant. I was really pleased to see that one side of the gate was slightly opened, giving the facade a very inviting feel, and of course, I have to love that the facade was my favorite color. :) Please let me know what you think as all suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

A Welcome Sight In The Studios

Oscar's is one of those things when first entering DHS that I think a lot of people don't pay much attention too. I think it really sets the stage and the theme of Hollywood Boulevard very well. Add to that, my fortune of a classic Florida blue sky for this shot. Please let me know what you think as any suggestions are welcomed and encouraged. Enjoy!

Another example of my love for Disney park signs. The sign outside of the Plaza Restaurant is just wonderfully Victorian and fits the theme of Main Street perfectly. Please let me know what you all think and as always, Enjoy!

Near The Top

Near The Top by DisHippy
Near The Top, a photo by DisHippy on Flickr.

I noticed with every Resort hotel we visited on our trip, Jenea and I would usually be allowed time to explore and shoot photos by our large group of understanding family members. ;) We would disappear and then randomly catch up with members of our party along the way to head somewhere else. This was from my shooting after our wonderful breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe. This is the top section of one of the totem poles in the Wilderness Lodge's lobby. This was taken from the highest point we could be without having a reservation for a club level room. lol. I shot a bracket of this and tried my best to tone the HDR effect down and get the colors under control. This resort is pretty tough, as I found out, to shoot. The lighting is difficult and varying, but alas here it for your viewing pleasure. Please let me know what you think and all suggestions are welcome. Enjoy!

Classic Epcot Center

A beautiful sight for any Disney fan and definitely one of my personal favorite areas to take in at night. This is just a single shot, but I think it turned out ok. Please let me know what you think and any suggestions you may have as they are always welcomed. :) Enjoy!

Echo Lake Apts.

Echo Lake Apts. by DisHippy
Echo Lake Apts., a photo by DisHippy on Flickr.

A quick shot on the way to a great dinner at the 50s Prime Time Cafe. This little gem of a detail is right before you get to the entrance of the Tune In Lounge and I was really quite pleased to find and shoot it. These are the things that Disney doesn't have to do, but does to maintain the theme and story in a particular area. Looking up the stairs past this gate, it actually looks like people are living up here, which would be awesome by the way. This picture covers to of my loves to shoot at the Disney parks, signs and details. Please let me know what you think and any suggestions you may have and as always, Enjoy!

Flowers & Chihuly Bokeh

Flowers & Chihuly Bokeh by DisHippy
Flowers & Chihuly Bokeh, a photo by DisHippy on Flickr.

Another grab while photowalking through Missouri Botincal Gardens (MOBOT) of the rose garden. I liked this shot for a couple of reasons. I liked that the flowers in the foreground were half shaded and half lit, I liked that there were some withered and new buds in there showing all aspects of flower life, and of course who could deny a little Dale Chihuly glass sculpture bokeh! :) Please let me know what you think about this one, I'm interested to see, and as always, Enjoy!

I'm finally getting to processing the rest of my shots from a St. Louis photowalk with Ryan Pastorino. This is from an ever favorite Missouri Botanical Garden of the Chihuly Walla Walla Onions in the center lily pond. I'm always on the hunt for a new a fresh view of these beautiful glass pieces so please let me know what you think. Enjoy!

Bask In The Glow, a photo by DisHippy on Flickr.

I wanted to take matching set of shots of one of the Tomorrowland palms. You've all seen my night version of this one, so here is the day shot. I was having some issues processing it as it's right into the sun and the highlights and shadows were a bit extreme. Please let me know what you think and as always, Enjoy!

Stop And Smell The Orange Blossoms

I will have to say, out of all the smells we encountered while on our last trip to WDW, be the smell of a familiar restaurant, a favorite resort (I do believe the Polynesian lobby has it's own smell! LoL), or a can't miss attraction, the smell that stuck with all of us from this trip were the orange blossoms at the edge of the Morocco Pavilion. This shot was taken on our last evening after we had gotten off the Friendship Boat heading towards Via Napoli for one last group dinner. I made it a point to stop here to point out this lovely fragrance to my family and to snap a couple evening shots of the pavilion. :) Please let me know what you think and as always, Enjoy!

The only thing that's missing from this shot is that every elusive monorail streaking by. :) I caught this as evening was beginning to take full hold after blue hour. Please let me know what you all think and as always, Enjoy!

Detail and Sunlight

Detail and Sunlight by DisHippy
Detail and Sunlight, a photo by DisHippy on Flickr.

An early morning stroll through Adventureland capturing as many little details as I could find. I really liked these lights around the Enchanted Tiki Room area and found this composition with the tower in the background. When I processed this one, I ended up really liking the gradient the early morning sunlight created across the frame. Please let me know what you think and as always, Enjoy!

Passage To Everest

Passage To Everest by DisHippy
Passage To Everest, a photo by DisHippy on Flickr.

A quick shot passing under the Asia sign in the Animal Kingdom resulted in some nice golden tones. Golden hours, in my opinion, and much more satisfying in or around a Disney Park I think. They must have some sort of sun filter that domes the sky of the whole property to make these hours extra special. :) Please let me know what you think and as always, Enjoy!

Just a simple shot of the Disney Clothiers store front on Main Street U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom. I really liked the morning light bathing this store front. Please let me know what you think and as always, Enjoy!
