POTD - Floridian Details In Spring

This is one from my last trip that Lightroom 4 helped me save. From our morning shooting monorail resorts. I am of the strict opinion that resorts are best to shoot early or after dark. I will doing probably just as much resort shooting in October as I will park shooting, for who ever is with me. :) Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - Night Time Reflection

This is one of from the other night and our downtown night shoot. This is one of the more popular spots for obvious reasons. I really loved the reflections and the shape of the pool. I could've done without the moss on the water, but I kind of like the light reflection. I did almost get eaten alive by mosquitoes while I was down there, but I survived and here's the result. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - Glowing St. Louis Skyline

This past Saturday night, my friend Scott and I went downtown to do some night shooting. I've been waiting a long time to get downtown to night shoot, but could never find anyone willing to make the trek. That night we spent 6 hours between the east side of the river, the Arch grounds, and downtown St. Louis. This particular shot was from atop Eads Bridge that connects Illinois and Missouri. You can walk all the way across but this spot was just over the rivers edge on the Illinois side. We had a great night of shooting and I can already see my night shooting skills and processing begin to improve. I've heard it from many people here on Flickr and I will pass it on to anyone who doesn't know. Bulb mode in Manual mode is the way shoot night landscapes for sure. This is an HDR bracket of 25 - 5 - 55 seconds, which was one of the shorter sets of the night. I had a ton of fun and we will definitely be heading back down for more night shooting, so much more ground to cover. Please let me know what you all think, as I've said I'm on an ongoing quest to improve my night shooting skills in both shooting and processing, so any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy!

There are newer trails back in the English garden section inside the Missouri Botanical Garden. Small stone trails with these great benches in nice quiet places. I really liked how they intentionally framed this one up very nicely. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - Lone Elk Park Lake

I headed out to Laumeir Sculpture Park early the other morning for some shooting. I was turned away because they were cleaning up after an art fair they had over the weekend. Instead I headed down the highway to Lone Elk Park. This park has a sizable herd of both Bison and Elk so it makes for some awesome nature shots. I was in landscape mode for this shoot so I shot around the lake a bit. This was definitely the best result. I was really drawn to the fog still burning off the top of the lake and the sun rays certainly didn't hurt. Despite the breeze, I was able to squeeze off three HDR brackets each for the two panes of the panoramic. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

A cloudy shot from Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom. I can always spend a lot of time here and I can only imagine that will be the case on my next trip as well. I've been wanting to shoot Main Street with the fall decorations for a very long time. I really can't wait to get back down and shoot some photos. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!
