POTD - Flags, Ruins, and Shade

Another from the archive of our 2011 trip. Walking through the Maharajah Jungle Trek in Disneys Animal Kingdom, the ruins and the attention to detail and age is astounding. I love Animal Kingdom for that, and it's what makes it one of my favorite places to shoot. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - Themed Lighting

I've posted shots of lights and benches before. Those of you who are as big a fan of Disney as I will know how they pay attention to detail. Everything fits the theme, at Animal Kingdom Lodge, this light fixture is beautiful and wonderfully themed. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - Morning Sun Over Boma

A shot from the archives of my 2011 trip. I'm glad I held some of these back so I'd have something to post leading up to our next trip in October. I snapped this bracket as we were walking to a breakfast ADR at Boma one morning. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. I look forward to snapping photos here and all over WDW with everyone at Photomagic 2013! Enjoy!

POTD - Vintage Railroad

I always loved the angle of this shot, but the light was just so bright on it, I didn't really like it. Playing around in Silver Efex from Nik Software, I came up with this. I think the vintage sepia look does fairly well and holds up with the theme of this area. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - Main Street City Hall

Here's another throwback to our 2011 WDW trip. If there is one thing I've said over and over here, it's that Main Street is one of my favorite places in all of WDW to shoot photos. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - Hummingbird On The Ranch

A shot from the morning we left my friends Ranch. The hummingbird feeders were empty, which meant the hummingbirds would have to hit the natural flowers in the gardens more. If there would have been less flowers, I would have set up some remote flashes to really freeze the motion. Though the 70-300mm VR really holds up during the daylight hours and is plenty sharp. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - Campfire, Friends, And Perseid

The first night of our camping trip was this past Monday. You know what that means, Perseid Meteor Shower! As we were getting down there in the dark though, we ran into some pretty thick fog. Since it's a lot of valleys and hills out there, the fog sat, and sat, and sat. We finally got two really good chunks of clear skies. I was shooting the Milky Way and lucked out to capture a meteor in this one. At first I didn't like the fire light in there because it was a distraction. Now, I kind of like, it shows the moment in time a bit better and really shows off what we all had the joy of sitting underneath out there that night. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - Working With Curves

A spur of the moment camping trip to my friend's Devil Rope Ranch the past couple days was just what the doctor ordered. Much needed rest and relaxation right next to a nice river. It also gave me another chance at star trails which was super fun. The hardest part about this shoot was waiting for that pesky moon to set. It wasn't at easy as last time we were there when it was new moon. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - Square, Center, Level

Another pull from the WDW 2011 trip archive. I was able to fix my lens distortion which was really the only thing that ever held me back from processing this one. As most of you have figured out, this is from the back of the Morocco pavilion. Aside from the lamp being blown just slightly right, I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - Glorchids

Caught these while roaming through the Climatron after a long day of shooting with friends. Since I'm there ALL the time, I happen to kind of know how the light comes through. So knowing where I would usually find some nice orchids, I knew there should be some light cutting through there to play with. Luckily for me, suspicions were right! Light was blasting these things from the back side and I was able to reach them with my telephoto. I know most of you must be getting tired of all the MOBOT shots, seems like that's all I post anymore. Rest assured that after October it will be mostly WDW shots. :) LoL. Please let me know what you all as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - Quiet Area, Still Busy

While at MOBOT with some coworkers shooting, I broke off to a quiet spot I like to shoot in. Getting away from the crowds on a day like that one wasn't super easy to do, so the quiet was welcomed. Then, on a lonely red flower appears a busy little female hummingbird. I was very fortunate to be the only one over here not to scare her. Also, having the bright sunlight certainly didn't help. It was a lot of fun taking photos of her and taking photos of a hummingbird NOT on a feeder. :) Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - What Is A Didgeridoo?

This is my roommate Steve. I had an opportunity to head out to an open mic earlier in the week to see a group of our friends, including Steve, play. Steve plays the Didgeridoo and is incredibly talented. This was my first concert shooting in a very long time. I didn't want to go all out since I worked all day that day, so I took my Olympus with me. Between my Olympus E-PL5 and 45mm f/1.8 I got a handful of good shots. Things were considerably more noisy than I expected or wanted, but Nik Software's Dfine handled the clean fairly well. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

POTD - Cactus Show Panorama

This was taken the other day that some friends and I went out shooting to MOBOT. This was also during their Cactus Show. Which usually when they've done these in the past, it's a sale with some more impressive pieces on tables for show. This is the first year I've seen it actually dressed up and designed kind of like what they do for the Orchid Show. This was absolutely beautiful and quite well done in my opinion. I wanted to capture the whole space, so I used my Olympus E-PL5 with the 17mm f/1.8 on it to get this pano. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions or comments are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!
